We have created this website so you can access information about Casa Blanca Canis including things which may be useful to you during your visit.
Directions
Our address is Casa Blanca Canis, Yecla, 30510 but we have an accurate location pin on Google maps that will guide you directly to the front gate.
If you are coming by plane to Spain, you have the option of three airports to fly into. Alicante is approximately 1 hour 6 mins away, Murcia is 1 hour 19 mins away and Valencia is 1 hour 34 mins away. All three are very easy to get to as the roads are great and are always relatively quiet. Parking at the airports is very cheap and easily available. The drop off and pick up area is free for about ten minutes.
Car Rental
We highly recommend hiring a car during your stay at Casa Blanca Canis. The villa is is about a six minute drive to the nearest supermarket or an eleven minute drive to the larger ones at the other side of Yecla and there are so many beautiful things you might want to see within an hour’s car journey in this wonderful part of Spain.
Our recommended car hire company is Rent Your Ride, located in Onil. They offer very reasonable rates (from €32 per day) and have excellent customer reviews. Rent Your Ride can can pick you up and drop you off at Alicante airport for just €30 each way (that’s cheaper than a taxi!) and even deliver and collect your car to Casa Blanca Canis from just €40 each way.
Phone: Rent Your Ride: +34 644 66 47 96

There are local taxi firms and a taxi to Casa Blanca Canis from Alicante or Murcia airport costs approximately 100 Euros. Yecla has a bus station and although the buses travel regularly to Valencia, Hellin, Lietor, Alicante, Barcelona, Caudete, Villena and Caravaca, there are no airport connections with Yecla. There is an access bus which covers Yecla town centre but it does not cover the area where Casa Blanca Canis is situated.
Local Weather
The weather at Casa Blanca Canis is often 2 degrees Celsius higher than the temperature which is forecast for Yecla, as this part of town has its own micro climate. However, even on the very hot days, there is often a much welcome cooling breeze that makes sitting out side a real joy. It has also been known to snow in the winter!
Don’t Forget To Bring….
Useful things our guests think are worth bringing have included:
- Armbands for those who cannot swim. We do have some floats and inflatables.
- Beach towels if you are planning a day at the beach. We supply one towel per guest but these are for villa use only.
- Suntan lotion is expensive in Spain so it maybe worth doing some research to compare prices in the country you are coming from.
- Flip flops/sliders for around the pool area.
- Plug adapters for electrical goods.
- The shops are close by so don’t worry if you have forgotten anything!

How To Check In

Parking Instructions
There is parking room for two cars on the drive and another car can park to the left of the gates before entering them. If you have more than three cars in your party, you will have to park further down the drive but please remember that this is a shared drive with our neighbours so they will need access at all times.
Inside the Villa
There are 5 bedrooms altogether. Four have king sized beds and the master has a super king bed. We have a single bed/mattress which can be placed in either of the bedrooms at the back of the house if you have a small child who needs to be in your room.
The bedroom at the top of the stairs to the left has wooden shutters which can be opened but are slightly tricky to close.
Two of the front bedrooms have ceiling fans which will work when the lights are both on and off. Please turn them off when you are not in the room.
The upstairs landing light is on a dimmer switch which is located to the right at the top of the stairs on the wall.
There is usually plenty of hot water to go around but as we have a hot water storage tank, it will eventually run out and you may have to wait about 30 minutes for it to heat up again.
There is a hairdryer in the main bathroom drawer for your use.
Please regularly remove hair from the shower plugholes to prevent any blockages or showers leaking.
Please make sure kitchen hygiene levels are maintained at all times. Crumbs or liquid spills on the work surfaces, the floor or anywhere outside will result in ants, flies or other unwelcome pests. Keep all fruit, fizzy juice drinks and open wine bottles in the fridge to prevent fruit flies.
There are fly swats and insect repellent sprays under the kitchen sink.
TOILETS – In both bathrooms, there are macerator toilets. They will only allow human waste and standard toilet roll to be flushed down them. DO NOT put anything other than toilet roll in either of the toilets as doing so will result in a broken toilet and will require a repair or replacement which you will be charged for. Please remind any children of this rule. Please bag waste up hygienically and dispose of it at the local waste disposal site.
Outside the Villa
There are lights for the swimming pool which can be used after dark which are accessible via the pool house under the pool. Please do not touch or adjust any of the other pool settings in the pool house.
Feel free to use any of the pool accessories/games/toys. At Casa Blanca Canis, we are very lucky to get such beautiful weather here, glorious sunshine and a very welcomed breeze. However, there are occasional gusts of wind which will tend to blow away towels/toys/furniture so be aware that your towel may end up in the pool when you were least expecting it to! At the end of each day it is advisable to store the pool toys/inflatables in the porch area.
The swimming pool has a deep end which you can dive in to. The shallow end is accessed via steps but please note that it is still quite deep, so all non swimmers will need buoyancy aids. The swimming pool is available for use at any time but please act responsibly and stay safe.
The jets in the swimming pool will come on at various times of the day. These are on a timer and must not be switched off as they are filtering the pool to maintain cleanliness.
There is a fire pit but it is not to be used due to the very strict Murcian laws regarding fires in rural areas.
The outside porch lights can be accessed via the fuse box cupboard in the entrance room of the house. Please turn them off when you go to bed.
Appliances
Washing machine
If you require a general wash then turn on the machine and turn the dial to the setting at the top labelled Variados. Press the go/play button with the triangle symbol on. Put your tablet directly into the machine not the drawer of the machine. This wash takes approximately one hour and will beep when finished.
Cooker
To oven cook food turn the left dial to the symbol with the line at the top and bottom. Turn the centre dial to the cooking pot symbol and turn the left dial to the required temperature. The oven takes at least five minutes to heat up. Food placed on the top shelf will cook much quicker than food on the bottom shelf. Watch things like pizzas carefully as they can burn before the cooking time is up.
Hob
The hob is gas fired. Turn a dial and simultaneously press down until the flame stays on. You can then release the dial. The extractor fan above works by pressing one of the buttons.
Microwave
Turn the bottom dial to the required heat level or to defrost. Turn the top dial to the required amount of cooking time. If the time is less than two minutes, turn the dial to more than two minutes and then turn it back to your required time. These are the manufacturers instructions so please adhere to them to keep the microwave in good working order.
Dishwasher
Fill the dishwasher with dirty plates etc. Throw a tablet onto the base of the dishwasher and do not into the tablet compartment. Close the dishwasher. Press the power on button then select program by pushing the P button. Then press the go/play button. The dishwasher will play a tune when it is finished.
Air Con
The air con units are operated via a remote control. Press the red power button and then the cool button or the quiet button for a less noisier setting. The swing button will direct the air higher and lower. For an adequately air conditioned room no other buttons will need to be touched.
Disposal of Waste
All waste refuse must be put into secured bags and taken to the local waste disposal site. They cannot be stored in the house or outside as this will attract pests (very quickly in the hottest months). The bins are a two minute car drive from the villa. There are plenty of bins and you are encouraged to recycle. Rubbish is to be taken there between the hours of 7pm and 10pm according to Murcian law.
